Hydration !
We know we should drink more water but sometimes it can feel like a bit of a challenge. We have to make a conscious effort to bring it into a daily focus and it is a focus we absolutely need. It is such a crucial aspect of our existence. We can take it for granted when we have such easy access to it. Lets look at why its important and some of things it can help with:
Preventing muscle soreness and aches after a massage (sometimes a massage can create muscle soreness depending on the pressure used)
Improving muscle hydration which helps with muscle manipulation.
Clearing the lymphatic system - waste removal
Improved movement.
Improved digestion - less constipation!
Improved brain function.
Paying attention to our daily water intake ensures our muscle tissues will remain healthy and hydrated and be able to respond to our daily functioning needs. We also need to be careful of not drinking TOO much water. This can be potentially life threatening as our kidneys cannot cope with processing an overload of water. An excerpt from Medical News Today explains more - “The body needs water to function correctly, but drinking too much too fast can have serious health consequences. The kidneys can only remove 0.8 to 1.0 liters of water per hour, and a very high water intake can upset the body’s electrolyte balance.”
